Reading

Lately I’ve been getting into reading. It’s been a long time since I’ve chosen to read anything. In college, there was always more reading than I wanted to do, and by the time I was done with that, more reading was the last thing I wanted. The beginning of this year, I did some reading about Java programming. That kept me busy for a while. Recently, however, I’ve been reading political and philosophical books. It’s a whole new world to me. I never thought I’d enjoy reading on these subjects. I’m working on Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations, and the essays by Bill Whittle. Future plans include 1984 and a collection by C.S. Lewis.

Mostly, these are confirming what I thought I believed, but didn’t know why until now. My political leanings are being solidified…

Isn’t it great to just read stuff that you have an interest in?

I an currently reading “Till We Have Faces” by Lewis- I highly recommend it. That one doesn’t really fall too well into the political realm, but does touch on some philosophical stuff. I’m enjoying it alot. I have been meaning to read “Confessions” for quite a while now, yet I just havn’t gotten around to getting into it. (neither is it the easiest reading in the world) But, I would recommend that for some good philosophical/theological reading.
