Well, I alleged to the fact that I was without work a few weeks back. In fact, for three weeks now, I’ve been on the hunt. It’s not easy, and it’s certainly not fun.

The situation is this: I was working at Leisure Host for a year and a half. I took a couple weeks off for Christmas, to go to Ohio and see Gwen’s family before they leave for PNG. While I was gone, my predecessor came in to do a little work. He discovered and reported my music collection, saved on my work computer, to the management. I came back after the break, and worked all of one hour before they fired me. Reason? “Inappropriate use of company equipment”. This predecessor who reported the misdeed to the superiors had his own collection on the computer when I got there. Listening to radio while working is ok. Only when it makes it’s residence on the hard drive, it’s grounds for termination, without a warning.

I’m doing my best to not be bitter. I was ready to be done with them anyway. My plan had been to hold off another couple months, and line up other work during that time. So, my plan has been adjusted, but not destroyed. I’m currently waiting to hear back from a bunch of applications.

I also had an interview this morning. The company does database systems for school districts, from grade tracking all the way to payroll. I spoke with two of the programmers there, and was able to communicate with them on their level. I think it went well. There is another applicant for them to interview, so we’ll see what happens.

Whatever happens, God is in control, and he knows what he’s doing.

You’re better off away from such a company;what an idiotic reason to fire someone.Great, now that they’ve rehired a creature like the one they replaced you with-that company deserves what it gets.
